Mushroom Tea Makes the Teenage Rebels Yearn for their Psychedelic Mother Goddess
by teacupofmoons (darkcrystalmagick)
“Malvacea” 2010 colouerd pencils on paper, cm 24 x 24
Untitled, Mark Rothko, 1969
Painted on paper as opposed to large scale canvas because by this stage his aortic aneurysm had left him too weak to do larger pieces. The smaller size makes me feel that it has a far more intimate quality and sense of vulnerability about it, which I really like. I think it is important to consider the fact that he committed suicide the year after, as much as I hate forcing the artist’s oeuvre into a narrative of a progression towards an end.
